Hi, I am DerSuperF, the person behind Travel frugally.
I started this site as a student in Bern with one idea: travelling and living well does not have to cost much. Since then I have spent a semester in Paris (living with a host family through Workaway), a semester in Bologna, two months in China, and countless weekends walking and cycling through the canton of Bern with a day ticket. Everything on this site comes from those trips: what worked, what it cost, and what I would do differently.

Why four languages?
Because that is how the trips happened. I write each section in the language of the place: German for Bern and Switzerland, French for Paris, Italian for Bologna, English for the guides that are useful anywhere. Use the menu to jump to the section you need.
